You can customize the board how you would like as well. See pictures of the black and white pieces.
If you are looking for a good chess board to add to this, I recommend a chess board with 2 inch squares as the figures can be as wide as 2 inches. House of Staunton website has some larger chess boards that are great for this chess set (that is the chess board I have in the pictures).
